New Light Dwelling
The Rowan Flack Group consists of five Norwegian players and one English vocalist. All having spent time studying at the Grieg Academy, the band leader Rowan created an EP ‘New Light Dwelling’ in five months, carefully crafting her own lyrics. The music on the EP is based on their own interpretations of Jan Garbarek and Keith Jarrett’s songs from the albums ‘Belonging’, ‘My Song’ and ‘Folk Songs’. They are starting to create their own songs also, a mix of jazz and folk with inspiration from artists such as Carla Bley, Kenny Wheeler, Arild Andersen and Gretchen Parlato.
